AGN feedback study in a galactic scale

Abstract:

AGN feedback is an important physical mechanism for the galaxy formation and evolution. In this talk, I will review our series of numerical simulation works on this topic using our MACER code. Different from many feedback works, we focus on a galactic scale. One advantage of this approach is that the Bondi radius of black hole accretion is resolved thus the accretion rate is precisely calculated. The state-of-the-art AGN physics is adopted, which describes the outputs of the AGN for any given accretion rate, including radiation and wind in two modes. Their interaction with ISM is calculated. We study the effects of AGN feedback on AGN light curve, star formation, growth of black hole mass, and AGN duty-cycle.
